Little Artists Workshops for children and parents to enjoy

These workshops are a chance for parents who might need peer support to meet other parents and some of our volunteers while they help their children enjoy themselves.

When you are feeling isolated or have lost confidence for any reason, the thought of going to activities for parents and their children can make you nervous. You might be worried that there will be a lot of people you don’t know there and you may not feel able to make conversation with anyone. Or you might be worried that there will be people there who already know each other and that you will feel left out.

But our Little Artists Workshops are not like that.

  • We invite people who are already using our services or are interested in having peer support and their friends to come along, so we keep them small and friendly.
  • A team of our volunteers leads them and they make sure everyone feels welcome and included.
  • The children can have fun being creative and socialising with one another while everyone watches over them.
  • Parents have the chance to have a cuppa and chat with one another and get to know our volunteers.

Little Artists Workshops are held once a month during the school term and once a week during the school summer holidays. We make one of the summer workshops a bit special, and have stalls for parents to find out about the different support groups we run.

Santa and a childWorkshops for parents

We run workshops for parents every few months on issues that are important to them. We find out what the workshops should be about by asking the parents who use our services which issues they want us to focus on.

Events for parents

We hold one or two events each year when we invite parents who use our services and parents from the community to come and share their opinions and ideas about the services that parents need when they are facing difficult or worrying situations.

There is no charge for taking part in any of our workshops and events.
